Meet The (Wouldbe) Austin Abortion Clinic Bomber

His name is Paul Ross Evans, 27, of Austin, Texas. On Monday, April 23rd, he walked into a Lowe's hardware store in Lufkin, Texas, bought potassium nitrate and dextrin, which a google search tells me are often used to make fire-works, as well as two pounds of nails. He then made himself a bomb and left it outside the Austin Women's Health Center, which offers abortion services. Fortunately, the device was spotted by a clinic employee. Police were able to defuse it and then trace the purchases of its constituent materials to his credit-card. Mr. Evans is now under arrest for, among other things, "using weapons of mass destruction". There is speculation that the attempted bombing is a result of the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling re partial birth abortion.

Best blogging comment I've heard on this story thus far:

The question now is, how will the Right handle Terrorism when it has a white face and a home-grown accent and grows straight out of its own hate-filled belly? Don't expect to see this story shoved down your throat on Fox, or anywhere else for that matter. Mr. Evans' case will be quietly handled with the hushed shame of an idiot child being relegated to the attic of a proper 19th-century family's home. And some asshole in some extremist group will be waiting for him with open arms when the law-and-order types let him out on parole.

I will try and update this over the course of the next couple of days.

You seem to be under the delusion that the media covers up white crime when in fact they coverup non-white crime and emphasize white crime. Get in touch with the real world pal. Here's the proof. Google

Grow up. Do you think anyone actually cares that a babykilling abortion mill is blown up? You don't seem to concerned about the babies that are being murdered at the babykilling Austin Women's Health Center.
SAY THIS PRAYER: Dear Jesus, I am a sinner and am headed to eternal hell because of my sins. I believe you died on the cross to take away my sins and to take me to heaven. Jesus, I ask you now to come into my heart and take away my sins and give me eternal life.

Whooee! When you booged onthis yesterday, there was some who said this guy wasn't a Christian or that there was no evidence that he was. I ain't seen any evidence or indications of that in the latest reports, either.

The Reverend Spitz is prayin' to Jesus so I reckon he IS a Christian. The target isn't even a clinic where abortions are performed. It only gives referrals.

In yesterday's comments, Christian Conservative said --

"For the record, people like this who plant bombs, etc., are not "Christians"... true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. When they stand before the Throne of God, they will have just as much to answer for as anyone else who's name is not written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

The Lord Jesus taught us to "turn the other cheek". Peaceful demonstration is one thing, planting bombs or shooting doctors is another.

DON'T tar us all with the same brush. True beleivers in Christ would not do such things."

I think CC should come back and discuss that with Recerend Spitz. They don't seem to be readin' the same Bible.

Actually, JimBobby, if this guy turns out not to be a Christian I will offer an apology to the entire Christian community.

Well, go blow it up, then and stop wasting everyone's time with your holy-rolling drivel.

Well, talk about hyprocacy - re. donald spitz - if you are truly an ordained man of the clergy - you should be removed from the church.

Jesus sure wouldn't put up with killing of "any kind". And, endorsing crime is "sick".

I think you are either a joking troll here or you are a wacko.

well, i have seen satan and his name is rev. donald spitz. if he is the real reverend donald spitz of virginia (googled him) than i think it is high time to notify the authorities. this is an unambiguous case of inciting terrorism and certainly classify's as hate-speech. big brother, where art thou???

Hate speech in the US is called "free speech." And of course, it's all noble until someone blows up the Murrah building.

Isn't that right, Herr Spitz?

So, what are the odds that Ev ans gets sent to Gitmo for his terrorism?

Yep,0.

Well at least he'll get a fair trial. Damn good thing he was white and Christian, or he'd be fucked.

I for one hope the Rev. Spitz gets to feel the pain of 2 pounds of nails propelled at high speed by explosives real soon. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

What a truly frightening, hateful individual.

You mean treated fairly like the accused in the Duke non-rape case? Or treated fairly like OJ Simpson?
